ABOUT US

 

We have applied elemental and isotopic fingerprints of biogenic and inorganic carbonates to modern and past climatic and environmental changes using state-of-art analytical techniques. Applied interdisciplinary fields include high-precision U-Th-Pa geochronology, high-resolution records of climate, environment, vegetation, and anthropogenic pollution from coralline aragonite, cave deposit, foraminiferalcalcite, and otolith aragonite world-wide, and issues involving paleoclimate change, oceanography, paleoceanography, and anthropology. We have developed geo-analytical techniques, including high-precision Sr/Ca ratio and attogram-sized 231Pa analysis by TIMS, high-precision U-Th analysis by MC-ICP-MS and SF-ICP-MS, high precision Mg/Ca and Sr/Ca determinations by cool plasma Quadrupole ICPMS (Q-ICP-MS) and SF-ICP-MS, and U isotopic and concentration measurements by Q-ICP-MS. Since 2001, we have participated in over 40 domestic and international projects in Taiwan ROC, USA, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Hungary, Singapore, and Mainland China.

 

我們將高階的元素與同位素分析技術應用到各種無機和有機的碳酸鈣材料中。所應用的層面包括了高解析度鈾釷鏷定年、高解析度氣候、環境、植被以及人為汙染在珊瑚骨骼、洞穴沉積、有孔蟲殼體以及魚耳石等之紀錄。這些研究涉及了古環境變遷、海洋學、古海洋學、人類學等。我們現已發展了多種地質分析技術,包括使用熱游離質譜儀(TIMS)進行高解析度鍶鈣比、微量鏷-231分析;利用多接受器感應耦合電漿質譜儀(MC-ICP-MS)和磁場式感應耦合電漿質譜儀(SF-ICP-MS)進行高解析度鈾釷定年分析;使用四極桿式感應耦合電漿質譜儀(Q-ICP-MS)和磁場式感應耦合電漿質譜儀(SF-ICP-MS)進行高解析鎂鈣比和鍶鈣比分析;亦利用四極桿式感應耦合電漿質譜儀(Q-ICP-MS)量測了鈾同位素及鈾濃度。從2001年開始,我們已參與了40個以上的國內外研究,合作對象包括台灣、美國、日本、越南、菲律賓、匈牙利、新加坡以及中國大陸。
